Google heard your complaints loud and clear; an update is on the horizon which will address outcry from Google Maps users.
You know how Google removed the easy offline maps feature in the new Google Maps experience? Yes, we know it’s still there (OK Maps) but it’s nowhere near as obvious as before. Well, Google has heard the voices of those unhappy with the change and are working to make things right… and fast.
That’s why our engineering team has been working around the clock to add a “Make this map area available offline” card below the search box for easier access.
Also, Google is making it a bit more clear as to what happened with Latitude and where you can find your friends. Look for the update (to this week’s update) to roll out starting on Thursday, July 11.
